Bound , New York City's monthly fetish haven for femmes, gender nonconforming and trans folks, is dropping its strict fetish-wear door policy tomorrow night, opening up the BDSM party to curious outsiders — even if plain-clothed — for the first time ever. Like always, however, organizer and DJ Katie Rex says safety and respect will be paramount; whether a dom's got you caged and chained, or if you're simply watching the kink unfold, Bound is committed to the security of all its guests. Though the beginnings of Bound go back two years, its official one-year anniversary party was held last January. Tomorrow marks the party's first event at Elsewhere , Brooklyn's massive, 24, square foot, multi-room club — a significant step up capacity-wise, but a challenge that will likely be met.

GAY NEW YORK CITY EVENTS - LATE NIGHT CRUISING - LATE NIGHT CRUISIN'
It would have seemed, to the untrained eye, that gentrification had caused the city to substitute its seediness for a more sanitized version of itself. The spectral death of the nightlife sex scene appears imminent, and yet, if you squint real good, you can still see the undercurrents of folks who are vying to keep NYC kinky. I was no stranger to sex work: During undergrad, I took a few topless maid service gigs to pay the bills. Now out of school and in my first few months in New York City, I found myself in a tight financial spot after running out of savings. After a few SOS calls, Stacy and I were on a crosstown bus, headed for one of those Chelsea motels where you pay by the hour. Soon after, I found myself replying to a Craigslist ad from a dungeon that was looking for women interested in professional domination.
